August 30, 2011

To all fellow triathletes living in the Northeast and hoping for a big name race to come to the area you are in luck! Rev 3 has reached an agreement to bring an Olympic and half distance race to Old Orchard Beach, ME in August of 2012 http://rev3tri.com/news/revolution3-triathlon-announces-new-2012-races-in-maine/. Adding to the excitement of the Rev 3 Series they will also be hosting an event in Wisconsin. Both of these races will open for registration on September 1, 2011.

These races are family oriented and offer spectators a plethora of options to entertain themselves while waiting for their favorite athletes or at the conclusion of the race. This is a fast growing series that has incredible pro fields and huge prize purses ensuring the best pro athletes. Just another way to watch the most incredible athletes compete at the highest level.

One of the best things about these races is that it has live tracking which means you can follow your athlete on course.

Congrats on your great finish! And thanks for the great recap! I did the Hy-Vee tri and enjoyed every aspect of the race. It's been interesting reading reviews of the race from people all over the country and of all abilities. Most of the reviews I’ve read have mentioned the hills. After I finished I was talking to my husband and said “the bike course was pretty flat!” I guess the hills in my area that I usually curse have skewed my hill perspective and served me well in training as I was able to reach a new high avg speed. I am definitely looking forward to this race again next year! And look forward to following your blog from now on.

    Stacey-
Thank you for following us and for reading my recap. That is great that you were able to record a new PR on the bike course. Where do you call home? Being from FL everything is a hill to me, the highest climb we have here is 400 feet. I saw that there we a plethora of people from FL so I am assuming they were all saying the same thing as I was. We are used to flats where we can get in a gear and go. I am glad you enjoyed the race, what other races have you competed in? I will be making my way out to Idaho next June for IM CDA- yes more hills, HA. Would love more input from you in regards to training, favorite races etc. Again, congrats on a great race at the Hy Vee and we will definitely see you next year. I will be bringing more people to compete next year.
